The need is greater than many realize.
An estimated 15% to 20% of the population is neurodivergent—more than 50 million people in the United States.
Neurodivergence can include autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, dyslexia, dyspraxia, Tourette syndrome, and other developmental, learning, and neurological differences.
Yet many families still struggle to find places where their children are understood, included, and given meaningful opportunities to participate in hobbies, sports, and other extracurricular activities.

Why We Were Created
Why Pom-Pom's Players was created.
Pom-Pom's Players grew from founder Erica Corsano's experience trying to help her daughter and her neurodivergent peers explore activities and discover what brought them joy.
Too often, children were placed in classes with babies simply because of a developmental difference. Other families were told private lessons were their only option—an expense many cannot afford and an experience that removes the friendship and team spirit of learning alongside peers.
Some organizations welcomed children with an RBT, aide, or companion; others did not. Yet not every child qualifies for or has access to that support. A child's ability to participate should not depend on insurance approval or a family's ability to pay for private instruction.
Pom-Pom's Players was created to remove these barriers, helping neurodivergent children try new activities, pursue their interests, and experience the confidence and connection that come from belonging to a team.
Where Our Work Begins
Starting in two communities we know well.
Pom-Pom's Players will begin serving Palm Beach County and Greater Boston, where our founder has deep personal and professional relationships.

Defined here as the Boston-Cambridge-Newton metropolitan area, home to approximately 5 million people, including nearly 955,000 children. An estimated 143,000 to 191,000 of those children could be neurodivergent.

While these are estimates rather than official diagnosis counts, they illustrate the potential need in just two communities. By working with trusted families, educators, businesses, activity providers, and community leaders, we can create a strong local model designed to grow into a national organization.

Pom-Pom's Players will partner with instructors, businesses, and community organizations to make activities more accessible while creating sensory-friendly programs and individualized mentorship opportunities.

Palm Beach County and Greater Boston are where our work begins, but our vision is national. Our goal is to create a model that can expand into communities across the country, giving more neurodivergent children access to hobbies, mentors, and inclusive experiences.
